Marcopolo is registered under the Companies Act Chapter 388 of the Laws of the Republic of Zambia. The Company is Limited by shares and
was incorporated in the Republic of Zambia on 8th July 2016 to invest in the research, manufacturing and sales of the following products:
a. Ceramics (Glazed) floor and wall tiles that can be used for cladding as well; and
b. Porcelain Floor tiles for interior and exterior decorations.
The formation of the Company was decided upon after systematic research conducted through detailed feasibility and strategic business plans.
It was realized that in the Southern African Region only South Africa could produce 30 % of Ceramic Tiles demand. This represented a business
opportunity for the Company.
Marcopolo is the first Company in ZAMBIA to set up the state of art Manufacturing Plant for tiles. The Company has completed the Second phase
in its Development Plan at a total project cost of USD 80,000,000 to meet the Zambian consumer demand. The objective of the investment is to
enhance capacity in SADC region and to have sufficient headroom to produce different tile designs rather than disrupting one production line
to process while changing parts of the machine when a need to produce a different tile design arises.
